Clothes rental service By Rotation launches pop-up store in Westfield London

Renting your clothes rather than buying them outright has been building up momentum as a major trend – and we’re all for it.

Not only could the movement save you some cash (far cheaper to rent a designer dress for a one-off occassion than buy it outright), but it’s also an important step in tackling our throwaway culture and growing waste issue.

And everyone’s been getting involved – just look at Carrie Symonds, who chose to rent a wedding dress and a gown for meeting the Trudeaus, and Holly Willoughby, who regularly rents outfits for TV appearances.

But it can be a touch daunting to take the plunge in the clothes-renting pool.

After all, when it comes to buying something snazzy, you can usually try it on in-store, or at home, before returning the item for a full-refund.

With renting, you do have to be a bit brave – and know that you’ll send pieces back with speed if they aren’t working for you.

So we’re excited by this news, which should help us test the waters.

By Rotation, a fashion rental app, is hosting its first ever physical pop-up store, which will allow you try on anything you fancy before you commit to taking it booking it out.

It’ll be in Westfield London from July 1 to 11, so you won’t have much time to pay a visit.

But if you do clear some space in your schedule, it’s worth noting that the store will also be hosting panel discussions, workshops, and sustainability masterclasses – so arrange your trying-on session around those.

The masterclasses on offer include flower crown sessions with My Lady Garden and tablescaping with Vaiselle Boutique, so those uninterested in clothes can get involved, too.

Plus, you’ll be able to check out rentable furniture and homewares from Studio Arva.

Eshita Kabra-Davies, founder of By Rotation, said: ‘I’m so excited to bring our By
Rotation community together at last in real life at Westfield London.

‘We’re building an extremely special network of lenders and renters on the app, and I know the pop up will extend this further, inviting a new audience into our space to see the fantastic opportunities rental fashion can provide, meeting like-minded people through our workshops at the same time!’

Sounds good to us, but don’t worry if you’re not feeling social – you’re perfectly welcome to just pop in and stare at the pretty clothes.

See you there.
