“Little trick I learnt when winter comes is to get your clothes airer and a spare bed sheet and wrap it around the clothes airer.

“Attach it to the radiator or a heated fan and it traps the heat and dries the clothes quicker.”

The hack works due to the fact that the sheet helps to trap a warm pocket of air under the bed sheet.

As energy bills soar and the handy tumble dryer is not an option for everyone, an expert has listed the benefits of an alternative – a dehumidifier.

Dehumidifiers are electronic appliances that, like the name suggests, suck out moisture from indoor air.
