As a senior member of the Royal Family, Kate, Princess of Wales is often required to dress up for glitzy evening occasions like film premieres and award shows. Last week the Princess joined Prince William for the second Earthshot Prize in Boston, USA, and she certainly pulled out all the stops. Here are some of Kate’s most memorable red carpet looks from over the years.

Kate’s green dress – Boston 2022

Kate stunned in a bright green dress by Solace London at the Earthshot Prize 2022. Fitting with the eco-friendly ethos of the event, the dress was rented for the night from the online platform Hurr.

Kate paired the dress with a pair of sparkling Gianvito Rossi heels, but the pièce de résistance was her emerald necklace.

Queen Mary’s Art Deco Emerald Choker was previously worn by Princess Diana, and Kate had never worn it publicly until her outing Stateside this month.

Social media users dubbed it the ‘revenge choker’ as Kate decided to wear it a day after Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex released their bombshell trailer for their new Netflix docu-series.

Kate’s gold cape dress – London 2021

The Princess of Wales sparkled in a floor-length gold sequined gown by Jenny Packham last year at the James Bond film premiere for ‘No Time To Die’.

Kate accessorised with a pair of gold heels, statement earrings and a citrine ring.

Kate’s look went down a storm, with Bond actor Daniel Craig himself telling her: “You look jolly lovely.”

Kate’s lilac McQueen gown – London 2021

For the first Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in London last year, Kate recycled a stunning outfit from 10 years prior.

The lilac Alexander McQueen gown was worn by Kate to a BAFTA event in LA in 2011, and for her 2021 outing she added a new bejewelled belt to the ensemble.

She paired the dress with Oscar de la Renta heels and Kiki McDonough earrings, and she styled her hair off to one side in waves.

Kate’s white and gold outfit – London 2020

The Princess dazzled in a white and gold Alexander McQueen gown as she walked the red carpet with Prince William at the BAFTAs 2020.

Kate previously wore the same dress during a royal tour in 2012, and her recycling was in line with the event organiser’s request that guests champion sustainable fashion.

The future Queen Consort donned a range of Van Cleef & Arpels’ iconic jewellery with clover motifs, a design that is also loved by Queen Camilla.

Kate’s forest green dress – London 2018

Kate, Princess of Wales was pregnant with her third child Prince Louis when she attended the BAFTAs in 2018, and her outfit was carefully considered in light of industry protests.

Female attendees had been urged to wear black to the event in solidarity with the Time’s Up campaign, but as a member of the Royal Family, Kate is expected to remain politically neutral.

While Kate didn’t wear black to the event, she did wear a dark green Jenny Packham gown cinched with a black belt, and she carried a black purse.

Kate’s bardot dress – London 2017

Kate wowed royal fans with her outfit at yet another BAFTAs in 2017, opting for another Alexander McQueen gown.

The dress featured white and green floral motifs which stood out against the black satin of the dress. The bardot neckline was a particularly unique choice for Kate.

She carried a black clutch bag and wore a pair of matching patterned pumps.

She also wore a pair of enormous earrings with pink stones, and on her wrist, she wore the Edinburgh Wedding Bracelet which was gifted to the Queen by Prince Philip to mark their 1947 nuptials.
