Savvy mum builds a fireplace out of cardboard so she can hang her stockings – and people can't believe how good it looks | The Sun

WITH the big day just over a week away, we’re all rushing to finish up our Christmas prep.

But each year, we face the same old dilemma – where do you put your Christmas stockings?

Some place them by the tree, others by the fireplace. But what if you haven’t got anywhere to hang them?

Luckily one savvy mum has shared a crafty suggestion, after building an entire fireplace out of cardboard so she had somewhere to put them ready for Santa.

Amber, known online as @sustainablyamber regularly shares creative reusing and upcycling ideas with her 5,400 followers.

In a recent Instagram reel, the crafty mum shares how she used three cardboard boxes to make her own fireplace and mantlepiece.

I’m a teen mum and here’s everything I bought my son for Christmas

I made the best budget Christmas dinner for six people – and it cost just £20

“I made this entire project with all the resources I already owned. The boxes were donated from a friend that recently moved.

“It’s definitely not a quick project but if you have about two afternoons free you could complete it.

“My expectations were really low for this, but it came out so much better than expected. I think it even looks kind of real.

“I’m definitely going to keep it up year-round (minus the holiday decor).”
