Laura Hamilton has been a firm fixture in A Place In The Sun since her show debut in 2012. The Channel 4 presenter has experienced her fair share of property mishaps, location errors and overseas blunders while filming the popular programme.

The 39-year-old has now dished on previous house hunters who have appeared on A Place In The Sun where things didn’t necessarily go to plan.

The property expert often showcases a series of holiday homes abroad to potential buyers, but has revealed that some people have not been so keen on her choices.

Laura explained there have been moments where they have refused to go inside a property.

She said: “They’re like, ‘Oh no, I don’t like the look of this one from the outside. I don’t particularly want to go in.’

“But you have to respect that. If they don’t want to view it, then they don’t have to view it.”

While Laura is no stranger to finding the perfect property for buyers abroad, the TV star has addressed rivalry between her co-presenters.

She often competes with presenters Jasmine Harman, Jonnie Irwin and Ben Hillman in the Channel spin-off show Home or Away?.

The premise of the programme is to help house hunters find their dream property either in the UK or abroad.

After showing them six properties – three at home and three abroad – they make a decision on whether to stay or move overseas.

The mum-of-two claimed there is no competition in the main show, A Place In The Sun, but admitted they do enjoy having “banter” on Home Or Away?.

When asked about show rivalry, Laura remarked: “No [rivalry], but on Home and Away? we have a bit of fun.

“Because one of the presenters is based in the UK and one of us is abroad we have banter.

“We’ll go, ‘Oh, [the house hunters] are definitely going to choose [a home] away, Jas’ or ‘I’m going to win them over and convince them to stay home.’ But it’s always a bit of fun.”

She continued: “It’s never any serious rivalry. Not at all. If anything I think we’re just happy for each other when the sale goes through.

“The offers have a bell and every time someone offers on a property we all ring the bell. We just encourage and support each other.”

The small-screen star has also opened up about her relationship with her co-stars and admitted she rarely gets to see them.

“We never see each other because we’re never in the country at the same time, so it’s not possible,” Laura said.

“I try to see Jasmine [Harman] every once in a while as we live around the corner from each other.”

She added: “And we go to the same gym but even that is hard to coordinate because when I’m at home she’s away and when I’m away she’s at home.”

A Place In The Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 3pm.
