Alan Carr’s husband Paul Drayton nearly ran over a woman and her baby while he was allegedly “four times over the drink-drive limit”, according to reports.
Reports claimed that the famous comedian’s partner had a terrifying near-miss with the mum, who was pushing her baby in a pram.
The actor was driving his Mitsubishi 4×4 when the alleged incident took place in Broadbridge Heath, Horsham.
Drayton, 50, was then stopped 15 minutes later, having travelled three miles from his swanky home with Alan, 45.
It comes as Alan spoke out about working to "support" his husband after an incident occurred earlier this year when Drayton was drunk involving a black eye.
Crawley Magistrates’ Court heard Drayton was “swerving from one side of the road to the other”, according to The Sun.
The court heard that he also reversed into a police car while he was drunk.
Drayton is charged with driving with 153mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath against a legal limit of 35mcg last month.
The defendant denies this according to prosecutor David Holman.
Holman said that Drayton also claims that the breathalyser machine was not working correctly.
“The officer says there was a strong smell of intoxicating liquor,” Mr Holman told the publication.
“The driver was then unsteady on his feet and lacked co-ordination.
"His speech was slurred and his eyes were glazed,” the prosecutor added.
OK! has contacted a representative for Alan Carr and his husband Paul for a comment.
The case has been adjourned until November 23.
It will take place at Brighton magistrates’ court.
