Boris Becker and son Elias pose in red tracksuits

TALK OF THE TOWN: Boris Becker and his son Elias pose in red tracksuits… in the style of Ben Stiller and his ‘sons’ from the movie The Royal Tenenbaums

My former Crush of the Week, Elias Becker, is not just a pretty face – he’s got a sense of humour too.

When he and tennis star dad Boris donned these tracksuits, the model, 22, realised they looked very much like Ben Stiller and his fictional sons in the 2001 film, The Royal Tenenbaums – so decided to recreate this pose from the movie for social media.

She’s one of the most polished women in showbiz, but Gillian Anderson admits after she graduated from theatre school, agents were reluctant to represent her as she looked like someone who had ‘washed up on the shore’.

Now all scrubbed up as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, the actress, 53, cringingly recalls she then looked like a Goth rocker ‘right out of The Cure’, adding: ‘Showing up to these agents in New York, still wearing those kind of clothes, they said, “If you’re going to auditions, you’ve got to show up a little more like the character you’re auditioning for.” ‘

‘One of the things I look for is if I’m scared,’ admits the Oscar-nominated actress.

‘If I’m scared, that means there’s something I don’t know about. Which means perhaps there’s something I could learn, which means I’m going to have to put my fear aside to do it. Maybe that’s quite sadistic, I don’t know.’

More bad news for TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall – two of his restaurant businesses have now been formally dissolved.

The Old Etonian, 56, closed his River Cottage outlets in Winchester and Bristol last year due to the ‘unprecedented challenges from Covid-19’ and last week the filing of official paperwork means there is no prospect of them reopening.

Hugh’s film company, KEO Films, went into administration last month with debts of more than £5 million.
