Carol Vorderman, 62, took to Instagram to show off her ultra-toned figure as she showed off her gym routine.

The former Countdown star sported royal blue leggings paired with a white long-sleeved crop top, leaving her toned abs on full display.

Carol highlighted her ultra-slim waist in the workout number, while also telling her fans about her gym routine.

She captioned the post in view of her 313,000 followers: “YM SESH FIRST THING WITH @meldeane12. Slamming,, lunging, lifting, stretching, sweating,

“Can hardly walk but so so happy. I’ve missed the gym for a few months…..back now….booommmmmm.

“Off to work now…..BBC RADIO WALES….and then some secret filming…..Ooooofffffff.” (sic)

Carol Vorderman is known for being the face of Countdown

Carol Vorderman joined Channel 4’s Countdown for its very first episode in 1982 when she was only 21 years old. Her mother had submitted an application on behalf of her after seeing a newspaper advert for “a woman with good mathematical skills”. Despite her young age, Carol was brought onto the show and appeared alongside Richard Whiteley until his death in June 2005. She then carried on alongside Des Lynam then the late Des O’Connor.

Carol Vorderman previously reflected on her 26 years on the programme as she shared a throwback video alongside a lengthy caption. She wrote: “39 years ago today I started on the telly with my beloved Richard Whiteley on Countdown as the first ever show broadcast on the new channel 4. I was 21. We had 23 cheeky, happy, laughing years together until he died. The clock stopped too soon and I still miss him. We were so excited about the 1st show in 1982. I had a proper job then & Countdown was an extra. We never thought it would last beyond the 8 weeks it was booked for! I was paid £20 a show which was a fortune to me. Richard & I worked hard. I made 5,000 shows over 26 years.”
