Duncan James has exclusively opened up to OK! about how he's supported his good friend Sarah Harding following her heartbreaking cancer diagnosis.

The former Blue singer, 43, told us that he is "really good friends" with the Girls Aloud singer, who is currently battling breast cancer.

“I really wanted her to get as much help as possible," he told us. "I was so sad to hear about her being diagnosed with cancer and I hope and pray she’s going to be OK."

Duncan, who is due to appear on the next series of Celebrity MasterChef, explained to us how he’d offered advice to Sarah about therapies that could help ease her symptoms.

“When I heard about her cancer, I reached out to her straight away and I’ve put her in touch with what I call ‘a miracle worker’, who helps people with alternative therapies,” he explained. “I said, ‘Sarah, speak to this person, he’s amazing.’”

The Hollyoaks actor beamed about how pleased Sarah was about the feedback she’s received following the release of her book, Hear Me Out.

“She’s written this book [Hear Me Out] and I think she’s really been blown away by all the support she’s had,” Duncan said.

During the exclusive chat – which you can read in full here – Duncan also revealed how he’s planning to marry his partner, Rodrigo Reis.

When we asked about whether he had spoken to his Brazilian lover about the possiblity of marriage, Duncan said: “Yeah, we’ve talked about that. But we have to wait and see how this crazy world pans out.

“It’s difficult – Rodrigo’s very close to his mother and she lives in Brazil,” Duncan went on. “With the way of the world at the moment we’d never get married without our mothers being there."

“I want to marry you and be with you forever but it’s time to get ourselves together,” Rodrigo added.

The couple also said they were open to having children, but aren’t rushing into parenthood together just yet.

Duncan said: “I’m 43 and Rodrigo’s 27. There’s quite an age gap and I’ve had a child. [To Rodrigo] But you’ve always wanted children, haven’t you?”

Rodrigo sweetly replied saying: “It’s my dream to have children but I live my life step by step.”
