Joe Wicks admits he’s ‘inspired’ by Gemma Collins and others who have begun a fitness journey and wishes the reality star good luck with her new healthy lifestyle.
The Towie star has impressed her social media followers in recent months with posts of her working out on her mission to lose weight while also delivering motivational words of encouragement.
Gemma, 40, recently said she wants to become the ‘best version’ of herself while sources claim she could be the ‘next Joe Wicks’ after receiving multiple fitness deal offers.
Cheering Gemma on, Joe told Metro.co.uk: ‘There’s loads of amazing trainers out there… but I think anyone that is going through a physical and mental transformation is inspiring, I think good luck to everybody.
‘It’s about inspiring and people have different journeys. It’s not always about fat loss and weight loss, some people have a positive message around mental health and how they feel.’
He added: ‘I don’t know Gemma Collins personally… but good luck to anyone trying to inspire the people.’
As well as encouraging millions around the world to keep active at home during the coronavirus pandemic, Joe, 34, became a source of motivation during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, he also endeared himself to social media followers by being honest about his mental health on occasion.
‘I think it’s important to show those vulnerable moments where you have days when you’re down and get emotional, you don’t eat well, have a blowout, drink gin and tonic and don’t exercise for a day because it’s real,’ Joe explained.
The Body Coach guru added: ‘I just think it’s that sense of we’re going back and it was demotivating. I didn’t actively plan on being emotional but by letting it out and being true and honest in that moment, I felt so much better after and it helped me.’
Joe will return to BBC Sounds this month with the second season of his popular podcast, with upcoming guests including Sir Tom Jones, Russell Brand and Sam Claflin.
Season two of The Joe Wicks Podcast will be available from Monday, May 10 on BBC Sounds.
