Vicky Pattison has expressed her "shame" and "embarrassment" after quitting Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Viewers watched as the former Geordie Shore star was the latest star to call time on the tough military-inspired Channel 4 show after she found a challenge too much to endure.

And reflecting on her physically gruelling during the show, the 33 year old explained on Instagram that she had "dreaded" the show airing as it was "physically the hardest thing she had done" and the "most emotionally difficult position I've ever put myself in."

Vicky captioned a clip of herself on the show: "I throw myself into everything I do- I give a 110% & not being able to finish the course has been a huge source of shame & embarrassment to me."

The brunette continued: "I've really beaten myself up over it- but I just wanted to say thank you. Your kind messages & beautiful support has been so unexpected that I just had to express my gratitude- you're all amazing & I love you."

Vicky admitted that she had "underestimated" the experience of being on the show.

"I'm annoyed that out of all the years I have wanted to do it – the year that they wanted me was the year I'd been sitting at home with me finger up me arse, watching Tiger King, eating banana bread & doing online quizzes to find out which 'Friends' cast member I would be.

"But I suppose that's life and quite frankly I'm not sure I'd ever be SAS material regardless of how much I trained.. I am a big, squishy girl pants & I think I'm ok with that."

Vicky went on to thank the cast and the crew, as well as the rest of the fellow "awesome" and "brave" recruits.

The reality star, who is now in a relationship with Ercan Ramadan, made the tough call to leave the show during Sunday's episode.

Vicky was teamed up with Olympic rower James Cracknell, 49, for a task in carrying a barrel up a hill but reached her limit following her time on one of the toughest SAS selection courses located on the remote island of Raasay in the Scottish Hebrides.

Reflecting on her decision to leave, Vicky said: "I have this like big regret that most people will probably know. I had sex on TV. Me mam didn't speak to us for ages when she had found out what I had done.

"So since then I just don't like letting people down."
