Two for the price of one! Mismatched shoes become an unlikely style hit, as Sarah Jessica Parker joins high street retailers releasing contrasting pairs

Mismatched shoes are set to become this year’s unlikely style trend, as actress-turned-shoe designer Sarah Jessica Parker becomes the latest to release a contrasting pair. 

Parker, 54, founder of the label SJP, announced last month that she will roll-out a non-matching style in a nod to the famous fashion moment from her Sex In The City character, Carrie Bradshaw

The luxury style has already sold out in a selection of sizes as fashionistas embrace the trend.

A number of high street and online retailers are also getting in on the action, with UK-based website Public Desire unveiling a £29.99 quilted style. 

The unconventional fashion choice also has the backing of some A-list heavyweights, with Celine Dion and Nicole Kidman being spotted in mismatched sandals when dressing for major fashion events.

Unconventional footwear pairings have also proven popular with influencers, after the trend gained popularity on Instagram. 

Celine Dion was also seen embracing the mismatched trend while attending Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris.

The Canadian singer colour coordinated her Jimmy Choo heels with a Chanel leotard for a daring look. 

Vans have also experimented with the trend, releasing Era shoes for £55 in two alternative styles earlier this year

Icelandic designer Kalda currently have these black and white mismatched leather mules in sizes UK 2.5- 7 for £290

Jimmy Choo’s £550 leather heels were debuted as part of the brand’s Pre-Fall ’19 collection and proved popular as sizes quickly disappeared.

Other brands offering mismatched shoes include Icelandic designer Kalda with £290 leather mules and Vans for £55. 

Influencer Maria Bernad who boasts over 373,000 followers on Instagram stepped out in Paris wearing a design from Kalda, coordinating with a yellow Prada bag and statement jacket from Edon Choi.
