Dorit Kemsley reacts to husband PK’s DUI: ‘He was barely over the limit’
Dorit Kemsley took a brief break from her month-long social media hiatus to wish her co-star Kyle Richards happy birthday and explain why she’s been MIA.
“I just needed some time away to focus on family and myself and all things important to me; and it’s been very helpful and healthy for me. Love you all(well most of you, the nice ones anyway!) lol!!!” she captioned a series of video and photos with Richards on Tuesday.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 45, added that she would be “back to posting soon, I promise.”
As for her tribute to Richards, she wrote, “I love you so much Kyle and I have the best time with you! I love how we laugh until we need to pee, can talk about anything, support one another, bond over the love our families and the love of Hermès(and all things designer).
“I love that our hubbies are besties too. May all of your wishes come true today and always.”
The reality star posted multiple photos after attending the 2021 People’s Choice Awards in early December, but she hasn’t posted any photos to her feed or Stories since then.
Kemsley’s husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, previously acknowledged that his wife needed a hiatus.
“She’s taking a break, here’s a quick update … she got more beautiful and has been working, looking after her family and she will return when she feels like it … she’s enjoying the break and I’m enjoying her awesome cooking,” he commented on Instagram last week.
The Kemsleys have had an extremely difficult last few months, including a robbery and an arrest.
Dorit faced a horrifying home invasion on Oct. 27. PK was in London at the time when his wife was held at gunpoint while men ransacked her house and stole designer purses, jewelry and watches.
Their kids, Jagger, 7, and Phoenix, 5, were home during the robbery but asleep in bed.
Less than one month later, PK was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Nov. 23. Dorit stood by her hubby saying he “was barely over the legal limit.”
“He’s very regretful. He fully understands the nature and the danger of drinking and driving,” she told a photographer while leaving the PCAs. “He was barely over the limit, and he fully understands and reassures me that it will never happen again.”
