Katy Perry Reveals There's "Friction" in Her Relationship with Orlando Bloom

Days after announcing she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child together, Katy Perry is opening up about how their partnership is anything but perfect — and why that's a good thing.

While speaking with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Friday, Katy admitted that there's oftentimes "friction" between herself and Orlando, but they're stronger because of it. "I have consciously or unconsciously picked a partner that makes sure I keep evolving into the best version of myself," she explained. "There's a lot of friction between my partner and I, but that friction breeds something beautiful. It can breed a lot of light."

She added, "It's just one of those relationships. I don't know about anyone else that's listening whatever kind of relationship they've had — and I've had many — but it's like we basically, we get down to the mat and come back up every time."

In a nutshell, Perry and Bloom have been on-and-off throughout their four-year relationship. The pair first began dating in 2016, before calling it quits a year later. In 2018, they were officially on-again and got engaged on Valentine's Day last year. However, their weddings plans are on hold – at least for now.

According to People, the couple decided to postpone their upcoming nuptials due to the global coronavirus outbreak. "It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant," a source close to the couple told the outlet. "They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus."

With a baby on the way, something tells us they aren't too concerned.
