Release Info for Salehe Bembury's New Balance 574 Yurt and Apparel ""Universal Communication" Collection

Following up on his “Water Be the Guide” 2002R that dropped in June, Salehe Bembury is broadening his collaborative horizons this spooky season with more collaborations with New Balance. The multi-faceted designer has applied his own creative touch to the New Balance 574 Yurt and and whipped up a whole range of new apparel products inspired by the great outdoors and trail running.

The shoes of this assortment are certainly the headlining products. It’s here that the former YEEZY/Versace designer pulls together elements from the New Balance 574, 990v3, Test Run 3.0 and the archived 755 to fashion a semi-chunky silhouette that bears mesh underlays and shaggy suede overlays. And to further speak to its outdoor sensibilities and functionality, Bembury parks a whistle on the heels of the shoes to promote safety and survival. “You already need many different tools when venturing outdoors”, says Bembury. “The New Balance 574 YURT was created so that you don’t have to worry about remembering every item, because we’ve merged two into one with a whistle on the sneaker. Weaving this theme into the campaign video makes me excited to see how my audience takes this campaign at face value while introducing the 574 YURT and apparel.”

Alongside the kicks will be a range of tees, hoodies, pants and caps that are designed with Salehe’s signature fingerprint graphics and hiking-inspired colors along with a batch of trail-ready accessories.

Mark your calendars for an October 22 release via New Balance and note that the kicks will retail for $150 USD each while the apparel will cost between $60-$140 USD and the accessories are priced at $30 USD.
