SUGARHILL and Wrangler Collide to Deliver Western Styling

Building on its exploration of Western styling, designer Rikuya Hayash’s SUGARHILL label has now collaborated with Wrangler on a capsule collection. The special release develops a series of items centered around the storied denim brand’s 127MW Western Denim Shirt and 13MWZ Cowboy Cut Original Fit Jean styles.

The reinterpreted take on the 127MW Western Denim Shirt features a relaxed silhouette and expresses an original ombre check using bouclé yarn. The shirt offers a unique texture that develops a luxurious look built on classic Western styling. Detailing comes in the form of yokes on the front and back, along with flap pockets, a pen holder, and locking on the hem.

The accompanying take on the 13MWZ Cowboy Cut Original Fit Jean is a classic denim jean complete with the “7-ICONS,” like the seven belt loops, watch pocket, yoke height, button fly, and silhouette were carefully chosen by SUGARHILL. Teaming up with Japan Cotton Cloth, based in Ibara City, Okayama prefecture, the jeans are constructed of an original 14.5oz denim with an indigo dye that fades quickly for a vintage look.

Priced between ¥36,000 and ¥39,000 JPY (approximately $270 and $292 USD), the capsule collection will be available April 28 via SUGARHILL and Wrangler.
