Takumi Minamino next club odds: Monaco favourites for Liverpool forward but face competition from Leeds and Wolves | The Sun

LIVERPOOL forward Takumi Minamino is being linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

Sky Bet are pricing Ligue 1 side Monaco as the odds on favourite to land the winger at 4/6.

Minamino signed for Liverpool in January 2021 from Salzburg for £8m, earlier in the season the Japanese had bagged a goal and an assist at Anfield in 4-3 defeat in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old has started just five league games for the Reds since joining, and it’s thought his time at Anfield may be up.

Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott are all thought to be above the Japanese in the pecking order at Liverpool, as well as the new addition of Fabio Carvalho, so a transfer away might be best for all parties.

Monaco have been named as Sky Bet’s favourites to sign Minamino, the Ligue 1 club finished third last season and will be looking to improve on their Champions League performance last season in which they were knocked out in the play-off round.

Leeds have also been linked with a move for Minamino, the Yorkshire club struggled in the goal scoring department – only Wolves scored fewer out of the teams that survived.

Jesse Marsch’s team’s top two scorers last season were Raphinha and Jack Harrison, both of whom are being linked with moves away from the club, so a replacement in the forward line would be much needed.

Wolves are in a similar situation to Leeds. Despite finishing 10th in the league, their top scorer last season was Raul Jimenez who scored just six league goals.

The West Midlands clubs are priced at 7/1 to sign the Japanese.

Minamino could also rekindle his successful partnership with Hwang Hee-Chan, who Wolves have just signed, after the two played together at Salzburg.

Premier League new boys Fulham are another side linked with the Liverpool man, who will be looking for Premier League experience in a bid to survive relegation next season.

Fulham have a Fabio Carvalho-shaped hole to fill in attack, who has left for Liverpool, and Bobby Reid, Anthony Knockaert and Neeskens Kebano are all entering the final year of their contract.

Leicester and Southampton, where Minamino spent six months on loan in 2021, are also in the frame for the potential signing of the 27-year-old.
