Ashley Cain left touched as his family get baby Azaylia's name inked in tattoo tribute after tot's tragic death

ASHLEY Cain has been left touched after his family had his late daughter Azaylia's name inked onto their wrists in a tattoo tribute just days before the tragic tot's funeral.

The 30-year-old star and his girlfriend Safiyya were left devastated last month when their little girl passed away at eight months old following a battle with leukaemia.

The heartbroken parents were moved by their loved ones' poignant gesture over the weekend, which they shared with fans online.

Taking to his Instagram page today, Ashley shared a photo that showed five of his relatives with Azaylia's name freshly inked onto their wrists.

The tattoo simply reads: "Azaylia Diamond Cain", with a small outline of a diamond underneath.

Ashley tagged all of the women in the photo, adding: "I love you. Azaylia Diamond Cain ?"

Meanwhile, Safiyya shared a video of the girls showing off their ink, writing alongside the clip: "Some of the girls from the family have just been inked IN MEMORY of my little girl Azaylia Diamond Cain."

The devoted couple regularly spoke out about how the love and support from their loved ones helped them through the dark days of Azaylia's battle, with Ashley's sister and mum moving into the family home in her final weeks.

The tattoo gesture comes shortly after Safiyya and Ashley revealed the details of their daughter's funeral on Friday [21 May], asking any well-wishers and supporters to line the streets of Birmingham for her "final journey".

Ashley previously admitted that planning the sad event had "brought him to his knees" in emotional Instagram posts.

At the beginning of April, the devoted parents revealed that doctors had told them they could no longer treat Azaylia's leukaemia, which she was diagnosed with at just eight weeks old.

The family had just raised over £1million for her to get specialist treatment in Singapore when they were delivered the heartbreaking news, with medics finding tumours throughout her body – including on her brain.

In the weeks that followed, Azaylia needed several blood transfusions as she started to cry blood, and suffer nosebleeds – with purple bruises also appearing on her body as her illness meant that her blood could not clot.

She stopped breathing several times and began to suffer seizures in her final days, with Safiyya and Ashley providing their daughter round-the-clock care alongside their close family members.

Azaylia passed away at home on 24 April, with Ashley and Safiyya both paying emotional tribute as they broke the news on social media the following day.
