BBC Breakfast found itself in a huge format shake-up as regular presenter Sally Nugent was notably missing from the red sofa.

The 51-year-old was replaced by Victoria Fritz who presented Monday (October 24) morning's instalment solo, while Sally's typical co-host Jon Kay traded the red sofa for a spot outside No. 10.

The newsreader, 52, presented live outside the London residence while the country waits to find out who the next Prime Minister will be following Liz Truss' bombshell resignation on Thursday (October 20).

Former PM Boris Johnson sensationally pulled out of the race on Sunday evening, leaving ex-Chancellor Rishi Sunak as the favourite to lead the country.

In a statement, Boris, 58, said that he had come to the conclusion “this would simply not be the right thing to do” as “you can’t govern effectively unless you have a united party in Parliament”.
