Bradley Walsh was left flabbergasted at the start of Wednesday's jaw-dropping episode of The Chase as a player achieved £10,000 in his first round.

In the rare cash-builder moment, Nick answered a staggering 10 questions correctly and television star Walsh was gobsmacked.

Bradley exclaimed: "That never happens! Five figures that never happens".

Viewers went into meltdown on Twitter as they showered the player with praise for his impressive first round.

One said: "Phenomenal £10,000 cash-builder from Nick!"

While another penned: "Wow. 10 on the cash builder. He needs to go for the top offer".

"10 THOUSAND!", remarked a third viewer watching the iconic performance.

Sadly, Nick's winning streak was cut short as he began to crumble under the pressure.

During his round against Chaser Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, he began answering questions wrong.

He was caught by the quizzing extraordinary and failed to make it through to the final round.

Bradley said: "I've never lost such a good player in a long long while".

Nick was the only player to be caught as his fellow teammates Sue, John and Sophie made it through to the final.

They were playing for £18,000 between them and gained an astounding 19 step lead against Jenny.

The final chase was hugely tense as the team achieved several push backs, but Jenny continued to answer question after question correctly.
