Strictly: Craig Revel Horwood praises Bill and Oti's dance
Craig Revel Horwood, 55, is best known for offering stern critique to contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, a duty he carried out when Stacey Dooley, 33, took part on the show. Since winning the BBC dance programme, the journalist and documentary-maker hasn’t starred in anything else with the television judge but the pair have now reunited to film the first of two celebrity specials of The Wall, hosted by EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, 43. Working together put the pair’s strategic skills to the test and the theatre performer has said it was “daunting” to be alongside the broadcaster.
Each celebrity was playing to donate a sum of cash to their chosen charities, meaning the contestants had to work efficiently to work their way up the wall.
Asked how he felt about taking part, the Strictly judge explained: “[It was] quite frightening as a matter of fact.
“I wasn’t nervous, to begin with, but then I suddenly was faced with the enormity of The Wall. I mean the size of it is ridiculous.
“It’s huge, it sort of threw me. It’s the biggest set I’ve ever seen so that was daunting,” he continued, but it wasn’t just the four-storey structure stood before him which made him feel intimated.
Speaking of his partnership with Stacey, Craig added: “She was fantastic. I really enjoyed doing the first round with Stacey because we’re on the floor, we’re having fun.”

The professional dancer explained he liked to be on the same level as Stacey as they could communicate better and the decisions were more even.
“If one of us knew it, we could go with it and if the other one of us knew it, we could go with it. So, it was nice being on the floor,” Craig revealed.
“But leaving her was daunting and then coming out at the end was even worse because I had no clue what had happened whatsoever,” he declared.
Whereas Stacey was playing for mental health charity Mind, the judge opted to choose the Royal Osteoporosis Society as his cause.

Camila, the Duchess of Cornwall, 73, is the president of the charity which Craig has been working with for a few years.
Speaking of why he opted to win some money for the ROS, the Strictly judge said he wanted to raise awareness of the condition.
As the medical issue is preventable, the theatre performer has wanted to try and put a stop to the increasing problem within society.
The professional dancer explained he wanted to put some money into something he “could maybe change or fix.”

The Wall returned to screens in the Autumn after the country had been living under strict coronavirus restrictions for six months.
Speaking about why the game show would provide some escapism for viewers, host Danny said: “I think we’re all still feeling a bit fractured from lockdown and this has resulted in some really odd behaviour among our contestants.
“Because of the ongoing crisis and the fact people are losing jobs, we’re finding that players are now being really ‘out there’ with their decision-making.
“There’s a hell of a lot of money at stake and, on this show, you can lose the lot! It makes for great telly, I’ll give you that!” he told What’s On TV.
Stacey and Craig aren’t the only celebrities who will be featuring in the festive episodes of the popular game show.
During the New Year’s Eve instalment, The Last Leg presenter Alex Brooker, 36, will be playing with former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay, 47.
Then it’s over to football icons Chris Kamara, 62, and John Barnes, 57, to see if they can take on the four-storey structure.
However, will any of the six all-stars have the nerve to conquer their opponent and walk away with some cash for their chosen charities?
The Wall Celebrity specials begin tonight at 6:55 pm on BBC One.
