After topping the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard and creating show history by securing the series’ earliest perfect score, EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis is the runaway favourite to win this year’s Glitterball trophy.
And it seems Rose’s EastEnders co-stars have every faith that she’ll be bringing the trophy back to Walford, predicting she’ll dance to victory alongside professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
During an exclusive chat with OK!, Lacey Turner, who recently returned to Albert Square as Stacey Slater, threw her support behind Rose, saying she totally “deserves” to win the competition.
33 year old soap star Lacey, told us: “Rose is so amazingly talented, I love watching her!”
The mum-of-two went on to say she is backing Rose, who plays EastEnders’ Frankie, to be crowned the champ, adding: “I really hope she wins, she deserves it.”
However, Lacey isn’t the only member of the cast who has been quick to say how proud they are watching her show off her moves each Saturday night.
Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, best known as Albert Square’s Ash Panesar, recently told us: “Rose is so lovely and I mean that genuinely. Inside and out she’s such a beautiful person.”
Gurlaine continued to praise her work ethic and how she’s become an inspiration for people in the deaf community and beyond.
She said: “She’s fiercely determined and is so inspiring for so many people. Rose is a great example of you can do anything you put your mind to and I’m really proud of her.
“I’m right behind her and think she’s one hundred million per cent got what it takes to win and I hope she does.”
Rose will no doubt be thrilled by her co-stars’ words of encouragement, having been on cloud nine since receiving the show’s first 40 of the series.
Taking to social media about her last performance, a Tango to Ed Sheeran’s hit Shivers, Rose wrote: “I am still speechless from last night.”
She went on to say: “I am so, so proud of us. Giovanni is the most hardworking, passionate, caring person ever who really believes in me.
“He really does bring out the best in me and a lot of credit goes to him on creating this amazing routine. The earliest 40 Strictly ever had. WE MADE HISTORY!”
Meanwhile, Giovanni echoed Rose’s sentiments, writing a similar message on his Instagram account. He said: “One of the most rewarding moments of my career …. And is all down to you.”
The post ended with a heartfelt message where the Italian dancer thanked Rose, adding: “Grateful, honoured and privileged to be your Strictly partner.”
