ESCAPE to the Chateau's Dick Strawbridge was forced to step in after spotting a "deadly" problem at their French home.

The loveable Channel 4 couple and their family returned to screens for a brand new series of Escape to the Chateau on Channel 4.


The latest episode saw the pair were continuing to transform their home into a wedding venue, but Dick stumbled upon a problem with a pond.

He explained to the family that they need to clear the mucky pond orthe remaining fish could end up dying.

Dick told his wife and kids: “Here’s our problem people see the little fish over there?

He added: "That’s the last bit of water we have here and we have to find a way to save the fish because if it gets any dryer they’re going to end up dying.”

Dick went on to explain that there wasn't much oxygen in there, and that he wanted to make a way to join the puddle with the moat.

Warning his family, Dick told them that there's a hole somewhere that goes underneath so what they have to do is "clear".

Angel interjected: “You’re not suggesting that we get in there though?”

Dick replied: “Have you got another way?” as he explained he was going to use a hose to clean the space.

Dick planned to using the water from the other side of the bridge to help clear the hole, the whole family also got stuck in assisting with the project.

But before Dick could get to work he used a ladder to lower himself into the mucky water so he could see exactly what the problem was. 

Angel exclaimed: “That is so gross."

Escape to the Chateau continues on Channel 4 on Sunday at 8pm.
