Ash Kaur (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) has been through some traumatic times in EastEnders recently. She was one of the people who was attacked by a homophobic gang at New Year. Ash was beaten unconscious and left in a bad way following the attack, but will be released from hospital.
The entire incident hasn’t made the relationship between Ash and her mum Suki (Balvinder Sopal) any easier, though. When Honey (Emma Barton) told Suki the attack was homophobic, it prompted an awkward discussion between the two in which Honey asked Suki directly if she was attracted to women. Suki admitted she had feelings for Honey, but denied that she was gay – and went straight out and picked up Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson), as if to prove a point.
Tonight’s episode sees tensions between Suki and Ash rise to boiling point, as mother and daughter have an almighty row. Is it about Peter?
Suki previously told Honey that she regretted some of the bad things she’d said to Ash, but when she has a chance to make amends will she take it? Or will their argument make Ash’s mind up and see her heading out of Walford for good?
Is Ash leaving EastEnders?
There certainly doesn’t seem to be very much for Ash to hang around for on the Square at the moment. She’s been beaten within an inch of her life and her mum is a nightmare. A fresh start in a new place probably looks quite tempting right now.
Gurlaine Kaur Garcha was recently spotted sunning herself in Dubai, so it’s possible that she was enjoying a temporary break from EastEnders – or perhaps having a break before moving on to pastures new?
We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for Ash and the rest of the Panesar family.
