Johnny Rotten shouts 'liars, liars filthy liars!' on GMB after being left out of Danny Boyle's Sex Pistols series

JOHNNY Rotten shouted "liars, liars filthy liars!" on Good Morning Britain today after he lost a case against his bandmates over the use of music in Disney's upcoming Sex Pistols series.

Presenter Susanna Reid tried to calm him down as he continued to slam the show's producers and director Danny Boyle.

The lead singer of the 1970s punk band ripped into his ex bandmates Steve Jones and Paul Cook after they won a court case permitting them to license Sex Pistols’ music in the miniseries.

The biopic about the iconic group that shocked the establishment and changed the worlds of music and fashion was announced back in January.

But John, 65, claimed he was only made aware of the announcement of 'Pistol' hours before it was made.

He said on GMB today: "They kept the whole operation a complete secret behind my back.

"Then slung a nasty little email to us on January 4th this year demanding my permission, the obvious question from me was 'permission for what?'

"Then bang. There it is. A few days later spread out all over the internet spread out about what a lovely documentary this is going to be on punk using pictures of me and my wife Nora, now they know she's ill. This is not nice of them, to do that. Then they forced me into a court case.

"They sue me for not giving permission, but I didn't actually deny permission. I merely asked a question."

Susanna, 50, interrupted him saying: "Ok. We've got a statement from Steve Jones and Paul Cook.

"'We reiterate he was informed of the Pistol TV series, we offered him to be a director and to be involved in the show months before principle photography began'."

But John shouted: "LIARS, LIARS FILTHY LIARS, January 4th was the first mention."

"Well OK, but…" Susanna said.

But John snapped: "No it's not OK. It's really seriously not OK …

"Two faced hypocrites, how are you going to do a documentary on punk without, hating to be pretentious about this, without Mr Rotten?"

Susanna continued to read the statement which said: "John's contribution was rightly acknowledged."

"It's been rightly ignored," he replied.

He added: "Shame on him, shame on him! Another champagne socialist Danny Boyle on the bum…"

Viewers were gripped to his interview, with one reacting: "Johnny Rotten is the only true punk around."

Another said: "Go John tell it as it is mate…punk without rotten….damned right John…"

As one more said: "John Lydon is one of kind, they are few and far between these days."

But another said: "John Lydon seems so bitter and nasty"

John married Nora Forster in 1979 and revealed in she was in the mid stages of Alzheimer's Disease in 2018.

Last year admitted her condition had deteriorated and that he had become her full-time carer.

The star was appearing on Good Morning Britain today to promote his new book and tour I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right. new tour.

He said it will be hard to leave Nora at home but he "needed the money" adding : "That silly court case I had to throw away £2million on that.

"I'm Johnny Rotten I always tell the truth."
