Katie Piper returns to screens days after being rushed to hospital for emergency eye operation | The Sun

KATIE Piper has returned to screens just days after being rushed to hospital for an emergency operation on her eye.

The TV presenter took to Instagram to reveal she would be back on Katie Piper's Breakfast Show on ITV on Sunday morning.

Katie, 38, was taken into hospital last week for an operation on her right eye after her husband noticed a concerning black spot.

The discoloured area quickly became "extremely painful" for the star – leaving her in agony as it worsened in just a matter of hours.

But despite undergoing an emergency surgery, Katie returned to TV on Sunday morning for her breakfast show – looking smiley.

She took to Instagram on Saturday to tease the show, as she was seen wearing a blue patterned dress as she told fans to "set their alarms".

Keeping a wide smile on her face, Katie pulled the blonde hair back off her face as her eye looked to be healing up after the operation.

"It's about that time – grab your slice of toast and your cup of coffee, 8:30am on ITV for the breakfast show," Katie said.

"Guess who's joining us on the sofa today – it's only DJ Fat Tony, and another lovely guy, the icon that is Ollie Locke. See you there, guys!"

"Set your alarms and I'll see you at 8:30am tomorrow morning on ITV," she captioned the post, asking her fans to tune in.

Fans went wild over Katie's return to TV – wishing her a "speedy recovery" and hoping that she was "healing up well".

It comes after Katie revealed her eye had been bandaged up after having an "emergency operation" on her eye last week.

“On Saturday my husband noticed a small black circle in my blind eye, I was excited thinking I had a pupil again," she wrote.

"But by Sunday my left eye was extremely painful and couldn’t tolerate light, so I patched it up and put it down to old injuries. I’m used to being in some level of discomfort and I went to work.

“By Sunday night I felt nausea and in extreme pain. I got in touch with my eye specialist and unfortunately he confirmed the black circle was a hole in my eye and the eye had perforated.
