Lorraine coronavirus fears: Michelle Heaton admits to self-isolating on ITV show

As the death toll rises around the world as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, people everywhere are adhering to medical advice to try and prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton who spoke with Lorraine Kelly live from her Hertfordshire home on ITV’s Lorraine today to discuss the drastic steps she’s taken because of the virus.

Lorraine spoke with Michelle via video link from the ITV studios today as the singer revealed she’s self-isolated after feeling unwell.

Speaking with Lorraine, Michelle admitted she has a cough and feeling slightly under the weather.

She said: “Lorraine, you can’t write this, you know me very well.

“Basically, a friend has come in contact with somebody that we know very well who has been confirmed.”

She continued: “So I was with that person who was with the other person about 11 days ago,

“That person, in particular, who had been with the one that was confirmed is always with us as a family.

“Now, they haven’t shown any signs of any symptoms at all (but) I do have a cough.”

Michelle looked slightly worried as she added: “Maybe I’m overthinking it.”

Lorraine nodded in support of the ITV show’s guest as Michelle went on to reveal her child is also exhibiting symptoms of a cold.

Michelle said: “AJ has sniffles. Kids get sniffles.

“Its a really delicate and difficult situation but I decided to do this because it’s about 12 days ago when the actual person was confirmed.”

The singer then held her hands up before stating: “I guess I’m as clueless as everyone else.”

“Now we’re recommending that if you have been or you feel sick or you feel ill, you stay in.

“So I’m taking that precaution,” Michelle told Lorraine before citing her child’s “weak” immune system as another reason.

Michelle did clarify, however: “As far as I’m aware, we don’t have it. It’s just a precaution.”

Lorraine continues every weekday at 9am on ITV.
