Love Island’s cast were delivered a heartbreaking blow during Sunday’s final of the Euro 2020 football tournament as their earlier excitement plunged when the country lost.
Up until last week the islanders had come to grips with the fact ITV bosses were banning them from watching the iconic match.
As is the case with rules in the villa, islanders are kept in the dark about events taking place in the outside world.
But due to the monumental occasion of England’s incredible performance to get to the final against Italy, producers had a change of heart.
Sadly, the devastating result for England meant the Islanders were left incredibly disappointed.
In a video clip shared by the show, Brad McClelland, Jake Cornish, Aaron Francis, Toby Aromolaran, Millie Court, Lucinda Strafford, Hugo Hammond, Liam Reardon, Teddy Soares and Liberty Poole could all be seen gripped by the TV.
The group stood with their arms held around each others’ shoulders as they watched the tense match finally come to an end.
After a 1-1 score from the first 90 minutes, the game moved into extra time, and when that didn’t finish things off, the two countries moved into penalties.

As Bukayo Saka sadly missed his penalty and Italy won the game, the entire group of Islanders threw their hands up in the air in devastation.
The boys appeared to be in shock as they couldn’t believe how close England came to winning.
Speaking to presenter Laura Whitmore in the Beach Hut after the game, Liberty, 21, told Aftersun that all the boys were “gutted” with the result.
“The guys are gutted, all the girls are like: 'What's going on?' but the guys are gutted,” she said.
"Everyone couldn't believe it, we were all there watching it thinking we had a chance. Jack Grealish should have been on penalties I think."
The beauty added: “It was nice to watch – the lads were proper into it, Jake was chanting all the way through it."
Love Island continues tonight at 10pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
