Masked Singer Gloria Hunniford broke show rules as she admits leaking character

Gloria Hunniford was unmasked as Snow Leopard on The Masked Singer but has since revealed she broke some of the show's super strict requirements.

Before signing up to the show, Gloria exclusively revealed to the Daily Star that she was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and that contestants were told not to tell their partners in case of a leak.

The Loose Women star said: "What is really surprised me is the amount of secrecy and how they manage to keep it all under wraps.

"They said honestly you can't tell your other halves but I did, and they were very good."

Luckily, her family didn't reveal her secret identity but fans were quick to guess who the leopard was underneath.

The 81-year-old presenter said that she had told a total of four people including her partner, two sons and her driver.

She continued: "I haven't a clue who else is in the programme. I watched it last night and I had really tried not to let my Irish accent out so much.

"But thank God I had somebody to walk me down that dark tunnel because I couldn't see anything.

"The good thing was that the mask took away any excruciating nerves."

After watching Poodle perform Elton John's Rocketman in the wings before she went on, she was blown away by their vocals and hope "he or she wins".

Talking about Poodle, she said: "I don't know who that was, not a clue even, but when I was in my little dressing area and when I heard that song I thought 'oh my god..' I thought it was fantastic."

When asked if she had slipped any of her Loose Women co-stars a clue as to what she was up to, Gloria said that she had kept her mouth firmly closed.

Talking about her fellow Loose Women's reactions, she said: "Well, I've had reactions from most of them now on either Instagram or private messages and I think they were surprised and just as shocked as everybody else."

Gloria also explained how her phone "didn't stop pinging" after it the show unveiled her true identity and she took off the Snow Leopard mask.

She continued: "The phone went ping-ping all night and I heard from people I haven't worked with or seen for years."

The Masked Singer UK continues Saturday night on ITV at 7pm
