Midnight Mass has caused quite a stir as it is the latest horror series to be dropped on Netflix. Set on Crockett Island, inhabited by a small close-knit community, everything changes for the residents when Father Paul Hill (played by Hamish Linklater) comes to stay. One of those affected by his presence is Erin (Kate Siegel) who returned to her hometown to start a new life with her unborn child.
Who is Midnight Mass’ Kate Siegel married to?
If you’re a horror fan then you would definitely recognise Siegel from a lot of her other work.
From Oculus to Hush and The Haunting of Bly Manor and Hill House, Siegel has become known as one of the leading actresses in this particular genre.
For all of which she has worked alongside her husband to bring to life.
Siegel is married to director Mike Flanagan, the mastermind behind The Haunting anthology series and the new Midnight Mass.
Siegel first met her husband-to-be during an audition for a film of his that didn’t end up getting made in around 2011.
Describing the process to Collider, Siegel said: “Mike looked at me and he kinda sat there for a second, and he was like,
‘Can you just do one more?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah.’
“And I was waiting for the notes he was gonna give me, and I was preemptively nodding because I was like, ‘I’m a good girl and I will take this note and I will do a good job.’
“And he looked at me and he waited until I stopped nodding, and he said, ‘Can you just do one just for you?’
“And I was taken aback because I didn’t know what that meant. I had forgotten.
“And something in me was brave enough to take the amount of time, which felt like an eternity, was probably two minutes, and figure out what it was that I wanted, and my acting changed forever on that day.”
Years after making their first film together Oculus, Siegel and Flanagan started dating.
Then in 2016, the pair decided to tie the knot and now have two children together, son Cody and daughter Theodora who was named after Siegel’s character in The Haunting of Hill House.
She is also the stepmother to Flanagan’s son from his previous relationship.
Since they have been together, the pair have also made Ouija: Origin of Evil and Gerald’s Game together.

Siegel has ventured on her own though for her next thrilling project on Netflix.
She will be starring in the horror film Hypnotic which comes out on Wednesday, October 27.
The film is about a woman who suffers from anxiety who enlists the help of a hypnotherapist to get better.
But it is soon realised that he has an ulterior motive as he gets inside her mind.
Flanagan was highly praised for the creation of The Haunting anthology series but it doesn’t seem like there will be any more series any time soon.
The director took to Twitter to state that there were “no plans” for another season.
Instead, he has been working on the new Netflix series The Midnight Club which is expected to come out next year.
Midnight Mass is available to watch on Netflix.
