Super Bowl LVII: First The Flash Trailer Has Two Batmans, Two Barrys and Supergirl

As Ezra Miller’s titular character breaks the universe trying to save his mother, he teams up with other superheroes from alternate realities to undo his actions.

AceShowbiz -Superheroes collide in the first official trailer of “The Flash“. Debuted during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, February 12, the highly-anticipated sneak peek sees Ezra Miller‘s Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash running into his doppelganger from another universe.

It all begins as Barry, using his super-speed powers, travels back in time to save his mother, who was murdered when he was still a boy. Unbeknown to him, his action comes with dire consequences that threaten the world from the attack of General Zod (Michael Shannon).

The video sees the returns of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton as Batman. As the world is left without metahumans to save it, Barry enlists the help of superheroes from alternate realities, including the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle, to undo his actions and restore his universe.

According to the official synopsis, “Worlds collide in ‘The Flash’ when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.”

“That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for,” it continues to read. “Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”

Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdu star as Barry’s parents, Henry and Nora respectively. Kiersey Clemons stars as Iris West, a journalist and Barry’s love interest. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

Directed by “It” filmmaker Andy Muschietti, “The Flash” movie is set to race into theaters in the U.S. on June 16. Its script is written by Christina Hodson based on a story by John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold.
