Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) will find herself at the centre of a terrifying ordeal in Coronation Street later this year, with on-location pictures revealing that she’s kidnapped.
The popular character, who has been a staple of the ITV soap for decades, will endure one of her biggest traumas to date, as she’s taken against her will in upcoming scenes and held captive in the back of a van.
Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, was spotted on-location with crew members of the serial drama, with filming kicking off on the dark storyline.
The soap star was pictured with cuts and bruises on her face as part of the narrative, with Toyah’s eye-liner steaming down her face, likely from the character being overwhelmed with emotion due to the situation she finds herself in.
Toyah, these pictures confirm, is bundled into the back of a van and knocked unconscious.
Bound and gagged, the cobbles mainstay will also be seen banging on the side of the vehicle, desperately hoping to be heard and freed.
But will anyone come to her rescue? Or will she manage to escape on her own?
The circumstances surrounding the kidnap remain shrouded in mystery, with viewers going to have to wait to find out who is responsible for Toyah’s ordeal and what exactly leads to the kidnap.
The outcome of the scenes are being kept under wraps, but fans will no doubt be hoping that Toyah makes it out of the dramatic turn of events alive.
We most certainly are hoping for the best!
Georgia joined the cast of Coronation Street as Toyah in 1997 and would stay on the cobbles for six years, before departing in 2003.
After finding success in multiple other TV series, including Law and Order: UK and Casualty, where she played Ruth Winters, Georgia reprised her role as Toyah.
The 42-year-old has been at the centre of many storylines since, with some of her biggest to date having aired in the last 12 months, following the death of Toyah’s husband Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo).
Toyah was subsequently arrested for murder and stood trial, before being acquitted of the charges.
The popular character has also reunited with former flame from the 90s, Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock), who staged a comeback to the ITV soap in the summer last year.
With another ordeal on the cards, it appears that this year is set be equally traumatic for our Toyah, with Georgia no doubt set to stun us all with her superb acting skills once more.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
