TALK show host Wendy Williams has amassed a huge fortune during her successful television career.
She has also often found herself in hot water and recently called Tom Cruise a "lunatic."
What is her net worth?
It is believed that Wendy Williams has a net worth of about $40million.
Her salary for the Wendy Williams show is $10million a year, or $55,000 an episode, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Her economic prosperity has not always been the case.
She recalled to The New York Times that she would sleep in her car after college.
“I would sleep in my Subaru,” she said.
“I would sleep at every rest stop between New York and Washington, DC to block out the noise of people telling me I couldn’t do it.”
What did Wendy Williams say about Tom Cruise?
Williams called Cruise a “lunatic” after hearing the leaked audio of him yelling at his crew on the set of his latest Mission Impossible movie for breaking Covid-19 safety protocols.
She went on to mock him for not having been seen with his daughter Suri, 14, in seven years.
During Monday’s broadcast of The Wendy Williams Show, which saw the host return after a break to mourn the loss of her mother, Wendy slammed Tom for screaming at his film team.
The 56-year-old turned her attention to the actor during the Hot Topics segment of the show.
Wendy said: “So, this Tom Cruise thing, speaking of crazy adults, we cop to that here, he was yelling at his crew members and it went viral.
“Tom was mad because a crew member broke the rules on the set of not wearing a mask.”
She played a clip of the audio, in which Tom can be heard shouting at crew members after apparently seeing some of them break Covid rules.
When did Williams' mother pass away?
Williams took three weeks off from her popular talk show in order to mourn her mother Shirley's death.
Wendy appeared in all black during a December episode and revealed the sad news about her mother.
She said: "She talked me into picking out this outfit today…she's also died. My mom passed away many, many weeks ago."
She added: "My mom and I – our relationship became closer when I went away to college … and it became closer at the point.
"First of all, she passed away beautifully and peacefully and surrounded by love. She didn't suffer one bit.
"Our relationship was like that of two teenage girls. My relationship with my mother was so girly and so ridiculously giggling. We would be on the phone for so long that we would fall asleep…
"Gone is the best mother and the best girlfriend a girl could ever have. And I feel fortunate that I had her in my life all of my 56 years."
Not showing any emotion, Wendy said: "It's not like I don't cry, I just don't cry in front of you regarding this particular thing. Not even a misty blue! What kind of robot have I become. I deal with that in therapy."
A few days later, Wendy seemed on edge as she snapped at her show DJ, DJ Suss One after he interjected during the Hot Topics segment, which led fans to slam the former radio personality.
