What happened to Jesse Anderson?

On November 28, 1994, while imprisoned at Colombia Correccrtional Institute, Anderson and serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer were left unattended with fellow inmate Christopher Scarver.

While cleaning the prison gymnasium toilet, Scarver removed a 20-inch metal bar from the prison weight room and brutally hit Dahmer twice around the head.

He then beat Anderson with the same weapon – who was working in a separate room.

Dahmer was declared dead an hour after arriving at the hospital and Anderson died two days later, after doctors removed him from life support.

In a 2015 interview with the NY Post, Scarver revealed why he also killed Anderson alongside “disgusting” Dahmer.

In one allegation, he claimed that Anderson defaced a painting of Martin Luther King in prison.

“There was a picture in the arts and crafts room that a prisoner had spent a lot of time painting, and he hung it up in that room to dry,” Scarver said in a recent interview.

“[Anderson] painted a blood dot on [MLK’s] forehead as if it were a bullet wound,” he told the outlet.

He also referred to Anderson’s initial attempts to frame two black men for his wife’s murder.
